Atlantis

Musings from the pen of Plato

Tell us many different things,
Before the ink on parchment dried
Our knowledge grew and unfurled its wings.

For the few this telling burrows deep,
In thoughts and feelings on a wave,
But dangers lurk in fathoms deep,
While power lurks below the grave.

Thus we buried it so deep
We wouldn’t think of it again,
But Atlantis won’t be swept away
Whilst pen records its souls in pain.

For waters pure and crystals bright
Were part of it’s eternal story,
And hearts and minds which lived and died
Will grasp its never ending glory.

Below the waves Atlantis rests
Below the sand and starfish pools,
And never shall we see its truth
Because nature can be oh so cruel.
